United States Coast Guard approved fire hose is typically 1 1/2" single or double jacket woven polyester firefighting hose fitted with NH/NST or NPSH/IPT brass couplings. The brass couplings allow for better corrosion resistance in harsh marine environments. USCG approved fire hose is manufactured to UL-19 standards as specified in CFR 118.320 Fire hoses and nozzles. It is labeled with UL approved markings and can be stenciled "USCG Approved".
